Dubai: Kapikad's Twin Dhamaka Creates Ripples of Laughter

Dubai, Mar 26: As expected, it was a completely comedy time for the Tulu drama lovers around UAE, as 'Telikeda Bolli' Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Devdas Kapikad's tulu twin plays 'Badhkud Orinda' and 'Gopala E Par Bala' created ripples of laughter throughout in the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium of Indian High School, Karama, Dubai here on Friday March 25.
Unlike past years, no crowd went back without tickets as organizers made excellent arrangemenst including the big space with first show occupied by about 1,300 audience and second show was full packed with about 1,500 tulu drama lovers.
Kapikad and his talented and professional troupe never disappointed the audience with thier superb acting skills and timely comedy diologues. Kapikad himslef led from the front, along with Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Shobraj and other actors.
'Cha Parka' troupe's Mumbai co-ordinator Karnoor Mohan Rai along with Tulu Koota Dubai led by C R Shetty presented this feast of comedy for the fifth consecutive time in Dubai.
A brief lighting the lamp programme was held prior to the shows. Padmashree B R Shetty, Sudhir Shetty of UAE Exchange, Shekhar Shetty of Arab Udupi, Sarvotham Shetty, Girish Shetty, Daya Kirodian, Yash Shetty, Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld.com, Satish Venkatraman of Chillywilly, Latif along with Tulu Koota president Cr Shetty and co-organiser Karnoor Mohan Rai were present on the dias during the ceremoney.
Devdas Kapikad and his wife Sharmila Kapikad were felicitated for bagging Rajyotsava Award, and his contribution to the Tulu theatre as well as Kannada filmdom.
Karnoor Mohan Rai was felicitated or succesfuly hosting 1,000 Tulu plays in Mumbai. All plays were presented by Cha Parka team.
Large turnout encouraged the artistes to give their best as 240th show of 'Badhkud Orinda' first mesmerized the audience with both comedy and moral theme. An uninterrupted 3-hour show was well-appreciated by the audience, as actors like Kapikad, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Shobaraj,
Sujatha, Rama B C Road, Thimmappa Kulal, Violet Dsouza and Monica Belman among others have put-up spectacular acting talent display.
The disciplined crowd appreciated the acting as well as the theme of both the plays.
'Gopala E Par Bbala' was more of a comedy play and throughout the play artistes kept the audience spellbound through comedy dialogues.
K R Tantry of Tulu Koota compered the initial lighting the lamp ceremony.

Karnoor Mohan Rai has put excellent efforts to make this show successful with the support from Tulu Koota members , specially by C R Shetty and Daya Kirodian who have been instrumental in bringing quality twin comedy shows of Kapikad to Dubai.
