Mangalore: Shree Devi College Celebrates Annual Day with Gusto

Mangalore, Mar 26: The Annual Day celebration of Shree Devi Group of Colleges was held at Loyola Hall, St Aloysius College premises here on Saturday March 26.

Professor B M Hegde, retired vice-chancellor of Manipal University presided over the programme. He said that education institutions are built by dedicated teachers and they shine not merely due to their infrastructure.

 

Today the world seems to be developed outside; hence inner development within individuals is the need of the hour. He stressed technology alone will not lead life towards superiority, but humanism that does, he said. He called upon the students to inculcate the positive approach by reducing hatred thoughts. He also suggested the teachers to remain as the students in order to continue pursuance of study.

B Nagaraj Shetty, chairman, coastal development authority was the chief guest. Addressing the gathering he said that Shree Devi Educational institutions are known for their quality education and added that Shree Dev institute always extended top priority both for quality and infrastructure facilities. He wished all success in future too.

Annual reports of colleges were read out by the respective principal of the college. The chief guest distributed prizes to the achievers in the field of academic and sports. Dazzling cultural programmes mesmerized the students and faculty members.

Welcome address was delivered by A Sadananda Shetty chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust. Nidhish S Shetty, vice-chairman, SDET, Nikshep S Shetty, trustee, SDET and Maina S Shetty, secretary, SDET among others were present at the dais.
