Hebri: Movement of buses stalled on Agumbe Ghat, road in danger of collapse again

Daijiworld Media Network – Hebri (MS)

Hebri, Jul 17: Movement of buses has been stalled on the Agumbe Ghat since a week due to a landslide at the fourth bend. Now, cracks have appeared on the third bend and there is a fear that this bend will also collapse soon.

Heavy rainfall of 17 cm lashed the ghat section on Saturday. It is said that for the same reason that the road got cracked. Water is gushing at a high velocity by the side of retaining walls. If the rain continues, there is high possibility that the road will collapse further.

The stoppage of bus movement on the ghat section has inconvenienced patients who have to go to Manipal Hospital from Shivamogga and Chikkamagalur. Now car and light vehicles have been allowed. But if rain continues movement of these vehicles might be prohibited.

Deforestation and improper planning inspite of having qualified professionals in the coastal belt. Corruption at such a huge cost of the public. Such an embarrassing situation. I wonder how well these corrupt politicians, beauracrats and the people involved cahave a sound sleep and do they have any conscious left in them.

All roads especially in the ghat sections are in bad shape due to substandard designing and construction of roads and retaining walls; repairing these roads will cost a fortune, all taxpayers money gone the drain!!

real kujuma, kodial was the road recently constructed. You never going to understand all political parties are one and the same whether it's congress, bjp, jds or even AAP. In karnataka also now we are seeing blank ink or ash spray on the faces of aap members where it was initially started in Delhi and then kejriwal meeting the accused and saying tjat I have excused him. So don't file any case on him. People of Delhi believed him...
