Bengaluru, Jul 18: Since three years, not a single student has enrolled in 541 unaided private PU colleges of the state. As per rule, admissions will be prohibited in such colleges. But due to Covid situation, the government has given conditional approval for a year.
According to rule at least 40 students should get enrolled in such colleges. Once the admission process is over, the PU department will undertake inspection. If it is found during the visit that the college has basic infrastructure and teaching staff to teach 40 students, then such colleges will be allowed to run for the academic year 2022-23 according to the information provided by officials of the PU department.
