Labhu Ram Assumes Office of Superintendent of Police

Mangalore, Mar 28: Labhu Ram took charge as the superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district on Monday March 28. However, the new SP stayed away from mediapersons on the occasion.
He replaces Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, who has been transferred to Bangalore.
Know Your New SP
Labhu Ram is an IPS officer of 2004 batch and had been in Dakshina Kannada district for his field/practical training in 2006. He has also served as in-charge superintendent of police, Udupi district and as Hassan SP, among other postings.
Hailing from Barmar district of Rajasthan, he joined the Indian Police Service in the year 2004 after writing the UPSC examination in 2003. He cleared this exam in his first attempt and underwent training at Mussoorie (Uttaranchal) in September 2004. After 10 months of basic training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad he was selected for the Karnataka cadre and accordingly posted to DK district to pick up the basics of field policing.
Labhu Ram is a BSc graduate and holds a diploma in general nursing.
