Bantwal: Police arrest couple, recover stolen gold ornaments

Bantwal, Jul 20: Two persons were arrested by the Vittal Police in connection with a theft case reported from Dambetaru of Vittlamudnooru village.

Those arrested have been identified as Sumathi alias Suma (25) and her husband Pramod who were working as labourers in Chandra Nayak's house, residents of Bhavikatte in Puttur taluk. The accused had reportedly stolen 98 grams of gold ornaments from the house on July 6. The police recovered the stolen ornaments from the accused on Monday July 18 and arrested the two.

The operation was conducted by sub-inspectors Sandeep Kumar Shetty, Manjunath T, head constables Jayarama K T, Rakshit, Karunakara, police constables Hemaraj, Satish, Manoj Kumar and woman constable Savitha.
