Bantwal, Jul 20: Bantwal rural police have arrested an accused on charges of assaulting a woman who is related to him for not calling or messaging him.
The arrested accused who has been identified as Ramesh, a resident of Pallipadi had reportedly used foul language and abused Latha, wife of Umesh of Paravarakodi in Pilimogaru village who was said to be related to him and attacked her with a knife before going into hiding.
Ramesh was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
Latha was injured in the incident and has been admitted to a hospital.
The arrests were made by PSI Harish K E and his team at Kallagudde of Kariyangala village.
