Bantwal, July 20: Landslides have occurred at several places on Bantwal – Belthangady NH 73. A hill near Vagga, Halegetu, Bantwal has been caving in frequently with rocks and uprooted trees falling on to the road causing traffic problems. The landslide had disrupted traffic on Monday also.

Though the mud and stones are being cleared by JCB, frequent collapse of mud has created anxiety. Barricades have been erected at present and traffic has been allowed on one half of the road.

Most of the vehicles ply on this road that connects Charmady as Shirady Ghat is closed for traffic. The increasing numbers of landslides on the road have caused fear and anxiety.
