Udupi: Book Exhibition Held under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at Brahmavar

Udupi, Mar 29: The district level books exhibition was held at Brahmavar block resource centre and Government Model Higher Primary School premises under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan here on Tuesday March 29.

Fifty-two state-run higher primary schools and lower primary schools were allotted with Rs 10,000 each and Rs 3,000 each in the district. The books necessary for the students, teachers and school libraries were sold at the books exhibition. The state has approved Rs 4 lac for the district under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and 17 book stalls were set up at the exhibition.

Zilla panchayat Steering Committee president Babu Shetty inaugurated the books exhibition. ZP vice-president Jyothi S Shetty presided.

ZP member Mallika B Poojary, Varamballi gram panchayat president S Narayanan, primary school head teachers’ Association Brahmavar zonal president Kavrady Sitaram Shetty, Brahmavar Pre-University College principal Tara Devi, former ZP president B Bhujanga Shetty, ZP member Sunitha Rajaram and block resource centre co-ordinating officer A R Vishwas among others were present.

Brahmavar block education officer Nagesh Shanbagh welcomed the gathering. Krishna Acharya proposed the vote of thanks. Block resource person Aroor Timmappa Shetty compered the programme.
