Mangaluru, Jul 21: The all new Revstar guitars were unveiled at Yamaha Music Square here.

The guitars were unveiled by the guest of honour Patrick Pereira (Patma), a well known musician and teacher from the city, musician and chief teacher at Yamaha Music Square Joseph D’Souza along with Ripple Boruah, guitar specialist from Yamaha Music India, New Delhi. Patrick Pereira’s son Patson Pereira, who is also an accomplished musician and sound engineer, was also present.

Patrick, who uses a 1994 Yamaha RGX guitar spoke about the quality, playability and tone of the Yamaha guitars.

Ripple gave one of the finest demonstrations of the guitar, answered questions from guitarists and guitar enthusiasts. The guests did not need much encouragement to play considering more than half the crowd were guitarists.

This was the first time a guitar launch event took place in Mangaluru. Many such product launches and workshops will follow.

The event was organised under the guidance of the owner Sachin Dev Rai and Yamaha Karnataka in-charge Pradeep Bhat.

Initially launched in 2015, Revstar was the first new electric guitar series from Yamaha in more than a decade, drawing on the brand's heritage in electric guitar design and the origin of motorcycle design from the Yamaha Motor Company.

The new Revstar series comes in three tiers: Element, Standard, and the made-in-Japan Professional. All models feature chambered bodies developed with the signature Yamaha Acoustic Design process. Using advanced measurement and modeling tools, Yamaha developed the chambering pattern to precisely shape tone and increase resonance while lowering weight and optimizing balance.
