Mangaluru: Rons Bantwal, Hariprasad Nandalike among Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy award winners

Mangaluru, Jul 22: Awards of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy for the year 2021 were announced on Thursday, July 21. Janapada field achiever Sanjeeva Bangera Talapady, direct and producer Krishnappa Uppoor and litterateur Ullas Krishna Pai Puttur are conferred with honourary awards.

The awards were announced at a press conference by Dayananda G Kattalsar, president of the academy at a press conference. He said that three senior achievers are selected for honorary award in addition to special child talent award, youth achiever award, Media award and organizing award. The state, outstation states and overseas level contributions of individuals were considered while selecting for the awards.


Clockwise: Rons Bantwal, Hariprasad Nandalike, Ramanand Shetty, Dr Ashok Alva, Ullas Krishna Pai, Yogish Kanchan, Sanjeev Bangera, Krishnappa Uppoor, Jeevika Shetty, Akshtharaj Perla, Niriksha Kotian, Saanvi, Chinmayi Mohan Salian, and Shashi Bandimar

In the compilation of poems category, ‘Tanjina Bolli’ by Yogish Kanchan Baikampady, in drama category Akshataraj Perla’s ‘Beli, Sapoda Kann’, and in the study section Dr Ashok Alva Suratkal’s ‘Tulunadina Prani Janapada’ are selected.

Neeriksha Kotian Kodikere, Jeevika Shetty Mumbai and Sanvi USA are conferred with child talent award. Hariprasad Nandalike, Chinmayi Mohan Salian Mumbai and Ramananda Shetty Oman are chosen for the Young achiever award. Media award is conferred on Rons Bantwal Mumbai and Shashi Bandimar. Organization awards were bestowed on Jai Tulunadu, Tulukoota Foundation Nalasopara Mumbai and Tulukoota Qatar.

Honorary award carried Rs 50,000 cash, certificate, memento, book award carries Rs 25,000, certificate, memento and special award carries Rs 10,000 cash, certificate and memento.

Academy members Leelaksha Karkera, Kanthi Shetty Bengaluru, Nagesh Kulal Kulai and Registrar Kavita were present.
