Kasargod: Stones placed on railway tracks at Kumble - Attempt to sabotage?

Kasargod, Jul 22: In a shocking incident that has come to light, an attempt of sabotage was made by placing stones on railway tracks at Bandyodu Muttam on July 17.

Mangaluru-Chennai mail express train was about to pass at the same time through the track on which the stones were kept. Luckily, the loco pilot of the train noticed the stones and averted a major tragedy.

A similar act was seen at Kotikulam, Kannapuram, Kannur South, Valapattanam and Papinacheri on earlier occasions. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Police have considered this act seriously and are investigating with regards to extremists’ involvement in these acts.

On July 17, the loco pilot of the Mangaluru-Chennai mail express noticed the stones on the railway tracks and alerted the officials. The stones were immediately removed and mishap was averted.
