Mangaluru: Malali mosque row – Court to pronounce verdict on August 1

Mangaluru, Jul 23: The third additional civil court of the city will pronounce its verdict with regard to the Malali mosque row on August 1.

The counsel for pro-Hindu organizations had appealed to make a survey through court commissioner as a structure resembling temple was seen on the land of mosque. The pro-mosque committee lawyer had objected for this request. In his argument, the counsel for mosque committee said that the land is under the Wafk board. So survey should not be done. Instead permission should be given to continue the renovation work of the mosque.

The counsel for mosque committee presented the copy of the order to the civil court, in which the high court had quashed the petition filed by locals Manoj Kumar, Dhananjaya and others asking the local civil court not to pronounce verdict in the case.

The third additional civil court which received the copy of the order has kept the pronouncement of verdict on August 1.

Fortunately we have by far honest judiciary in our country... In fact that is the only saving grace now that even media is almost sold out... Let us await the judicious verdict from the honorable court and respect it... That will hopefully pave the way to snub recently mushrooming reclaiming and renaming culture...
