Mangaluru: National level inter-collegiate fest 'Excelso’ inaugurated at Milagres College

Mangaluru, Jul 23: Milagres College, department of Commerce in association with IQAC organized a day-long national level inter collegiate fest ‘Excelso 2022’ on Saturday July 23.

The chief guest for the day was Dr Alwyn Dsa, registrar St Aloysius College, Autonomous, guest of honour, Dr Francisca Tej, founder and director, Wizdom Ed. president, Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent, Milagres Educational Institutions, other dignitaries on the dais were Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal, Milagres College, vice principal Cassin Rodrigues, Karthika, Excelso staff convenor Florida, president of Milagres College student council and Anoop and Hafeeza Jamal, student coordinators.

Fr Michael Santhumayor Principal welcomed and introduced the dignitaries on and off the dais. The chief guest Dr Alwyn Dsa in his message said, “A fest of such kind is a platform to explore oneself and guides each one to their future endeavor. Education is not filling one with pot of knowledge but to learn from each other, identify their creativity and appreciate each one who work hard to achieve success and achieve their dreams.”

Guest of honour Dr Francisca Tej, in her message said, “An individual’s holistic development is possible only when a student adheres to all values and makes an effort to think out of the box which will help to grow stronger with an identity of their own.”

Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent in his presidential speech said, “An individual’s character is well exhibited in a festival and success will come to those who have the desire and determination to go after it.”

The formal programme concluded by vote of thanks by Karthika. The programme was compered by student representative Pearl.

The chief guest for valedictory programme was Fr Michael Santhumayor, principal Milagres College. He congratulated the college and the participants for being a part of the event and asked the students to take all negativity as encouragement for success.

More than 25 colleges took part in the excelso fest. Competetions like Man Vs Bee (The best manager) , Suits (market leader), You dont know me (The RJ show), Ask the doctor (Nutri Colloquim), Stranger things (art out of waste), Abstract (photography) and Cheers (cocktail making) was held during Excelso. Students from various colleges gave their feedback on the events.

Various colleges won in different events. Canara College, Mangaluru, won the overall championship and Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru were the runners up for Excelso 2022.
