Mangaluru: Mahavir Chakra Commodore Gopal Rao’s portrait unveiled at World Konkani Centre

Mangaluru, Jul 23: Chairman of National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) K V Kamath unveiled the portrait of Mahavir Chakra Commodore K P Gopal Rao at the World Konkani Hall of fame of the World Konkani Centre (WKC) on Saturday July 23.

Addressing the gathering, K V Kamath said, “I am humbled and honoured to unveil the portrait of Mahavir Chakra Commodore K P Gopal Rao at the World Konkani Hall of fame. The contribution of K P Gopal Rao should be known to everyone and he deserves such recognition.”

Daughter of Commodore K P Gopal Rao, Savitha Rao said, “I thank the World Konkani Centre for unveiling the portrait of my father in the hall of fame. I relived my father’s glory and am proud of what he has done for the country.”

World Konkani Centre president Nandagopal Shenoy welcomed the gathering, joint secretary Sneha B Shenoy rendered the vote of thanks and World Konkani Centre CEO Gurudath Bantwalkar compered the event.

Vice president Gilbert D’Souza and secretary Giridhar Kamath were also present.
