Mangaluru: Mortal remains of missing retired bank employee found in Netravati river

Mangaluru, Jul 25: The mortal remains of a retired bank employee, who went out from the house saying that he is going to get his blood pressure tested, were found in Netravati river near Adamkudru on Sunday, July 24.

The deceased is identified as Vishwanatha (65), a resident of Beedu near Kannur check post. He had gone out of the house at around 9 am on Saturday July 23 saying that he is going to hospital to get his blood pressure tested. When his wife called at around 12.25 pm on his mobile phone, their relative Sarojini picked the call and said that Vishwanatha has left his mobile phone and wallet and has gone towards the river.

The family members searched for Vishwanatha everywhere but could not find him and finally registered a missing complaint with the police. On Sunday, search was conducted at Netravati as it was suspected that he must have jumped into the river and his mortal remains were recovered.

Police said that he must have ended his life jumping into the river.

    due to high inflation this poor soul must have had difficulty taking medicines for his disease..RIP..have patience brothers and sisters till 2024..suvarna yuga of india will start..

    I think in the history of Netravati river and the Ullal bridge numerous lives have perished (mostly suicides). Also, when the new vehicular bridge was built in 60's there was new going on that on of the pillars was not standing firm or collapsing in complete and as per rituals some blood was offered (bali not Cow nor Kori))
