Mangalore: Indian Oil Private Outlet Near KPT Circle Evicted

Mangalore, Mar 31: Mangalore Service Centre, an Indian Oil outlet, located near KPT Circle here was evicted as per the Court order issued by District Magistrate on Thursday March 31.
The service centre was under the jointly ownership of Dulsine D’Souza and Covete D’Souza and functioning since past 30 years. The eviction order was executed by additional commissioner, Prabhulinga Kavalakatti.
However, the owners of the centre allege that the present deputy commissioner Subodh Yadav has passed an order to demolish the centre without any prior notice for the land was taken on lease from the district administration and the renewal of lease can be carried out anytime before November 27, 2011.
According to Kavalakatti, the owners have taken only 10 cents of land for lease, while were using 42 cents government land in addition with out any permission. The land in excess of 10 cents has been encroached and hence can renew the lease for 10 cents but not the excess land where the pumping equipments are being fitted. The owners' appeal to the high court too stands rejected, he said and added that DC court issued the order for final eviction on Wednesday March 30.
