Bengaluru, July 26: KPCC President D K Shivakumar and Congress opposition leader in the Assembly Siddaramiah have dubbed the one-year anniversary of Basavaraj Bommai regime as ‘’Janotsav’’ at Doddaballapur on July 28 as nothing but BJP government’s Utsav of Corruption.
Addressing a joint press conference at the party office in Bengaluru on Tuesday, the two leaders said why Bommai government is celebrating one-year anniversary when it is four years since BJP came to power through unholy means.
``Corruption is rampant in all government departments and Bengaluru has become a corruption capital of Karnataka. This is BJP regime’s real achievement,’’ they said pointing out none of the sections of society from farmers to ordinary people have benefited and none of the promises to the people have been fulfilled.
The BJP government at the Centre has failed in fulfilling all its promises while the State Government is steeped in corruption from the PSI scam and allegations of corruption being directly sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with no result, the Congress leaders said.
The Congress leaders said the BJP regime totally mismanaged the Covid situation and failed to provide relief to the people. Even the promised compensation to the families of people who lost their lives is not fully paid. The law and order situation has completely failed, they charged.
Earlier in the morning, all State Congress leaders staged a silent protest in front of the Mahatama Gandhi statue in the Congress office against the continued questioning of Congress President Sonia Gandhi by ED authorities in the National Herald case even when Income Tax Department itself had said the complaints were baseless.
