Bantwal: Man sentenced to 20 years RI for raping his minor daughter

Bantwal, Jul 26: The additional district and sessions court has sentenced Abdul Azeez (70), a resident of Peruvayi grama, Vittal police station limits for raping his minor daughter in March 2020 to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.

The judge M Radhakrishna pronounced the verdict on the basis of detailed investigations and witnesses.

Bantwal circle inspector T D Nagaraj conducted the investigations and submitted a charge sheet to the court. Venkataramana Swamy, public prosecutor, argued in favour of the government in the court.

The Vittal court monitoring cell officers and staff have followed up the investigations at various stages of the case.
