Mangaluru: State government responsible for untoward incident in pub - Khader

Mangaluru, Jul 26: "The state government and the chief minister are responsible for the untoward incident that was reported on Monday, July 25 night at a pub. The police department should trace those anti-social elements and they should be booked," said MLA U T Khader.

He was speaking to media persons at the Circuit House here on Tuesday, July 26.

"These incidents will bring a black mark on the district and the city. There are several pubs in the city. Why these anti-social elements have targeted a single pub. Is it because they have not given 'Hafta' to these people?" These elements are threats to the development of Mangaluru, he said.

"The government has hiked the GST and tax. Moreover, the hoteliers have to give Hafta to these anti-social elements. After the pandemic, hoteliers are running their businesses with difficulty. The government has to take action against those who barged into a private property and disrupted the privacy of youth. They have mentally harassed the youth. Who has allowed them to do that? Why are these organizations silent on video games and other pubs? Why is the local MLA silent on this issue? If the government doesn't want pubs let it cancel the licenses of all of them. Or else it should allow them to do business," he added.

Sadhashiva Ullal, Santhosh Kumar and others were present.

The joke of the day is these PUBs and BARs are owned by the same BJP MLA or MP relatives!!!     When there is an age limit why were minors present inside. Parents should keep a watch on their children, see that they do not get into anything that can addict , including but not restricted to, drugs, pan masala, smoking, alcohol etc. The age between 12 to 25 is very crucial, children take some time to understand the dark side of life. Do not blame the police, the politician or someone else. Charity begins at home. In the end it is the child and family that suffers.

    Monty Dotor, Mangalore, who confirmed minors are inside? Did any one verified their DOB. Because of one elected member's statement do you quote as "minors are inside" Dear Dotor, pls be authentic before pressing comments. Police are also responsible to stop "drugs, pan masala" these big fishes are freely roaming out side and some time now and then police catch small fishes and make big news for few days and as usual, people forget.

    I am not quoting any elected member, but according to a reliable English language newspaper 8 out of 18 members of the group were minors. From the CCTV footage they will be identified, and probably some action will be taken, which we should all approve.

    I agree wholeheartedly Monty sir. Its absolutely duty of the parents to know where their children are going in the evening hours....!! This is not the responsibility of college once they step out of the compound. When parents know to give money, they are equally responsible to know where the money is spent. Many a times, even parents do not put efforts to find out where their child was !! Some parents are abroad ..open an account and transfer money. Do they know, whether their children spend money on alcohol ?? Drugs? Pubs ? Girls ?? Etc. Finally when such incidents are happening, when their children are called over to the police station for inquiry or principal's chamber for interrogation, they get depressed. But, in the meantime its not the duty of BD either. My question here was why one only pub was attacked when many students belonging to different colleges, enjoying in various pubs ??? In these pubs, children of all communities participate. But, name comes for just one community for partying late night. Parents, awake before its not too late. Let your children spend as much as they want once they earn and not at the cost of your sweat.

    Dear Mann, moral policing is permitted for sanghis only. Other cannot do it. If sanghis do it will be called as desh bhakti + saviour of girls etc. whereas if other do it is called aatank / gaddari. BJP is supporting and directing the goondas to create problem in society. Concerned goondas who attacked the pub and mishandled the customers + pub staff should be arrested under goonda act and they should be made to pay for the loss happened to the pub owner. All pubs should appoint gunman in future who will have the right to shoot on any problem maker.
