Centre indulging in political vendetta against Oppn leaders: RJD

Patna, Jul 27 (IANS): After the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained Lalu Prasad Yadav's closest aide Bhola Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal claimed that the central government was practising vendetta politics against the opposition but the RJD is not afraid of it.

"We have heard through news reports that he was detained. The official confirmation has not come so I cannot comment on this matter. If the news reports are true, then I would only say the BJP is showing signs of desperation. They are practising vendetta politics against opposition leaders. The RJD is not afraid of such acts of the central government," said Chitranjan Gagan, state spokesperson.

A CBI team detained Lalu Prasad's right hand man Bhola Yadav in connection with the IRCTC scam on Wednesday.

The CBI had called Bhola Yadav four days ago for questioning but he refused to appear. Hence, he was detained in this case.

Bhola Yadav has been close to RJD chief Lalu Prasad for more than three decades. He was staying with the RJD chief at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti.

The CBI team also raided Bhola Yadav's residence at his native village at Kapchahi in Darbhanga district and Bahadurpur residence in Patna.

The IRCTC scam happened during the tenure of Lalu Prasad when he was the railway minister in the UPA government between 2004 to 2009. He had reportedly offered jobs in Group-D in the IRCTC and asked aspirants to do the registry of their lands in the names of his family members.

Earlier on June 20, CBI teams raided 15 places of Lalu Prasad in Patna, Gopalganj, Delhi and other places in the IRCTC scam case.
