Beltangady: 40-year-old man dies after fall from coconut tree

Beltangady, Jul 28: A man fell from the coconut tree and died while plucking coconuts as he lost his balance in Ujire here on Wednesday, July 28 evening.

Ananda (40), resident of Ninnikallu Palenja in Ujire village is the unfortunate victim of this incident. Though he was rushed to hospital immediately, he died on the way.

Ananda was well versed in removing coconuts and also spraying pesticides for arecanut. Beltangady police visited the hospital and collected the preliminary report.

The deceased is survived by wife, son and daughter.

    This is too high risk profession. These skills has to be attained in childhood then only they can climb the tree in adulthood. i am also requesting the ruling party to approve compensation for his family.

    govt will not give a rupee of compensation for hard worker like this man....the flood affected people of kodagu have still not got the houses...only third rated rowdies are given 25 lakhs...this is the reality of this chaddi govt..if a bjp leader is killed because of gang war then they should give compensation from party fund and not from tax payers' money

    If his family would have been claimed some one from M badge pushed him down from the tree he might have been got compensation from BJP government.
