Mangaluru, Jul 28: Four miscreants chased a youth outside a textile shop in Surathkal and brutally hacked him to death on Thursday, July 28 evening. The incident has occurred even as chief minister Basavaraj Bommai is in the district following a BJP youth leader's murder yesterday.
The deceased Fazil (24), a resident of Surathkal's Mangalpete was critically injured after the attack and died on the way to a hospital.
This murder comes close on the heels of the slaying of Praveen Kumar Nettaru in Bellare on July 27 night.

The gang which came after Fazil who was talking to an acquaintance charged at him, chased, caught him brutally assaulted with swords and hacked him right in front of the textile shop.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
Sec 144 imposed
Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has imposed prohibitory orders in and around Panambur, Bajpe, Mulki and Surathkal till July 30 midnight.
