Mangaluru, Jul 29: Regarding the brutal murder at Surathkal, police commissioner N Shahsi Kumar said that the investigation is progress and a clear statement will be given after the probe is completed.
Addressing media on Friday July 29, he said, “Two teams have been formed to handle the probe that is collecting information about the murder. Our investigation is not yet reached to a stage where we can reveal the identity of the killers and the motive behind the murder. We are interrogating more than 14 people as a part of investigation.
“At present, Sec 144 is enforced under the commissionerate limits. Once we get concrete evidence, we will communicate the same.
“Twelve people have been detained since yesterday post Suratkal incident as they were found unnecessarily going around suspiciously when Sec 144 was in place.
“We have already spoken to the deceased’s family members and friends. It is very clear that Fazil was not a member of any association or party. He did not have any criminal background. He was working as daily wage labourer.
“I am requesting people to behave responsibly on social media. Do not forward any rumour texts and do not believe in rumours. Do not post false and fabricated information through fake IDs and forward it on social media,” he said.
