Opposition claims BJP playing 'murder' politics, Bommai says 'ridiculous'

Bengaluru, Jul 29 (IANS): Opposition parties in Karnataka on Friday accused the BJP government of playing politics over the murder of three youths, which was refuted by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

The state has witnessed three murders in the last nine days.

Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said on Friday that the series of murders in coastal region have dented the image of the state. He said, "The ruling party is carrying out murder politics over the deaths of youths."

Opposition leader Siddaramaiah said Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai's earlier comment of 'action for reaction' is resulting in the series of murders. Former Minister and Congress leader U.T. Khader demanded on Friday that all the three murders should be treated with equal seriousness by the state government.

CM Bommai clarified that the government has considered all three murder cases seriously and was dealing with the situation efficiently. "I will hold a meeting with senior police officers on Friday. There is no clue available with Fazil's murder which took place on Thursday night. We are not considering it as just a murder but it is a preplanned act," Bommai said.

Kumaraswamy chided the Chief Minister that when he (Bommai) was still in Mangaluru, the third murder took place. "CM has escaped from there. He did not show courage in directing police to take ruthless action. What is the reason behind CM Bommai's fears? Is he bound by the directions of invisible hands?

"Instead of stopping the murders, CM Bommai is taking about bulldozer politics. It is a conspiracy to bring 'jungle raj' in Karnataka," Kumaraswamy stated.

Siddaramaiah demanded the resignation of inefficient Home Minister Araga Jnanendra." If he is not sacked immediately, there will be a situation where people in the state will not be able to come out of their houses. It is unfortunate that ruling BJP is mired with calculations of political gains and losses with the corpses of youngmen," Siddaramaiah said.

Reacting to the charges of the opposition, CM Bommai said the charges by the opposition were ridiculous.

    Siddaramaiah is no say because under his leadership there was almost 30 murder of Hindu boys just in a year. So, what is he talking about ? Anyway , this nonsense must stop of killing ... there are too many Jobless Youth's in Coastal Karnataka for very long time. These boys are given lots of pocket money to be around in their Native place by their relatives and look after their home and old parents. These kids with money and vehicles to their disposal are going rudderless. it's very easy - identify all the kids above 17 staying in and around Mangalore , Udupi and see who are going to college but , academics are not good, who are staying at home and not working anywhere, find their source of income including their old parents - you can have surveillance on them and nip the problem from the bud. There are few communities in Hindus which include mine whose Boys are aggressive and in Muslims. Other communities we don't have to bother much. Couple of Caste in Hindu community are either wayward or they are leaders for waywards and same in Muslim community. This is purely because, the family support from these communities are very strong and these are generally aggressive community with warrior gene .... just mend them constructively and they will become very good for society.

    You were in DK to pay condolence to Praveens fly members and offer 25 Lacs financial help but never bothered or concerned about Fazils murder. Neither coutsy visit nor financial support. Darpuk ya double cross. You are responsible for all such bad developments in Karnataka. Bring Yogi model to Karnaka and face peoples wrath in a days to come.
