Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur , Jul 29: Police who lathi-charged BJP workers during the funeral procession of slain BJP leader Praveen stand transferred.

IGP of western range Devajyoti Ray took an order to this effect on Friday, July 29. In addition, the police sub inspectors (PSI) of Bellare and Subramanya police stations who are transferred are not assigned any other police stations but asked to report to IG office at Mangaluru.

Suhas of Kundapur police station is appointed as new PSI of Bellare police station and Manjunath, PSI of Vittal police station is given charge of Subramanya police station.

Police and youths of Hindu organizations had heated arguments during the funeral procession of Praveen on Tuesday July 26. Some workers hurled stones at the police and the cops had to resort to lathi-charge in order to bring the situation under control.

Police beat senior RSS activist from Kasargod Ramesh with lathis. Video of the beating had gone viral on social media. Pro-Hindu organizations had expressed anger against this incident and called for action on police. They had condemned chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, who arrived to Bellare on Thursday for not taking any action on police. Now the government has bent to the pressure of Hindu activists and transferred two PSIs.

Its shameful to note that karnataka is turning into jungle raj. Sincere police personnel have no place in karnataka. BJP govt needs police to be friendly with sanghi goondas even though they stone them and stop them from performing duty. Goondas hurled stones on police during the processing and it is police duty to lathi charge to maintain peace. In mangalore during CAA march by muslims, police restored to firing and killed two innocents even though there was no stone pelting. I think bjp needs police to restore to lathi charge and firing only if the demonstrators are muslims. There is separate rules for muslim in karnatka as in UP goondaraj. CM Bommai should resign as he is unfit to protect lives of innocents in the state. He has no right to continue as CM. He is the worst ever CM karnataka has so far. His main job is to appeasee sanghis.

Police opted for lathic-harge only after stones were hurled at them by these unruly BJP workers. The moral of the story is get beaten but don't hit back. If you take action, you would be transferred. What jungle raj we have in Karnataka!! Do we have police to control law & order or they are there to dance to the tune of our ruling politicians?

How police can recognise who is what in that huge procession ? Police must have come from different places. If procession was going peacefully, and with due respect to Late soul of Praveen, such beatings wouldn't have taken place. Otherwise, how police can maintain law and order ? Their duty is really pitiful. I salute to all our police personnel....no day no night...

Deliberate action by the government . If CM is misusing his powers just under the pressure of Hindu organizations that shows hoe he is performing his duties as a leader. He is openly supportng illegal organizations and creating troubles for all. Worse than jungle rule.
