Mangaluru, Jul 30: “Members from various committees have attended the peace committee meeting convened by the district administration. They have raised various issues. Even the police department is undertaking probe in the right direction. The real culprits will be arrested. No one will be arrested unnecessarily," said ADGP Alok Kumar.

He was briefing to the media after the peace committee meeting at the DC’s office here on Saturday July 30.

He further said, “We will arrest the real culprits behind both the murders reported in Dakshina Kannada district. The people who attended the meeting also suggested that the peace committee meeting should be done at every station and district level continuously. We have also suggested the officials to hold peace meetings effectively. Importance should be given for the peace committee meetings in sensitive areas.

“They also suggested that a few youths after consuming drugs are getting involved in such crimes. We have also directed our officials to take strict action against the ganja menace. They also urged us to take action against those who post wrong information on social media. They also alleged that some media keep on showing serious crimes repeatedly and create a bad opinion about the district. They also suggested that we take action against those who spread false news on the social media,” the ADGP said.

He also said that the public should give complaints on those who deliver proactive speeches.

“The chief minister (CM) has directed to form check posts in border areas. We will also deploy KSRP forces in such places,” he said.

Peace committee meeting held in absence of political representatives

When the media questioned the absence of political representatives at the peace committee meeting, deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V said, "As there are senior police officers and other officials, we have conducted the meeting. There will be a series of peace committee meetings in the coming days and the political representatives will attend it. Within one week, officials and representatives will hold a meeting again.

CM should have visited all 3 murder case victims' families

Those gathered in the peace committee meeting also suggested that the CM should have visited all the 3 murder case victims' families.

Why should public give complaint for provocative speeches done? Why police can't take suo moto action? In all of the cases, the police department fails to even arrest the people who give provocative speech. You may not agree, truth is that police is just a puppet in the hands of the politicians. Thus police action is on orders and on selective people and religion.

No meaning for all these pea meetings when government itself supporting and funding criminal organizations. If they really interested in peace government would not have been distributed taxpayers money to one side. What srilankans dealt with politicians recently should have been answer for Indian politicians too. Otherwise India will go into nuts as our enemies wish.
