Bengaluru, Jul 30: The number of people opting for third dose of Coronavirus vaccination in the state has increased considerably after the union government made it free for people in the age group of 18 to 59 years.

In the last 15 days 15.8 lac people have received the precautionary or booster dose. The third dose began to be administered from April 10. At that time it was announced that it is free only for frontline warriors and senior citizens. A fee of Rs 225 was fixed for people in the age group of 18 to 59 years. Nobody Approved India's Precautionary Dose ?? Following reply highlights as per RTI request by The Wire Science ... •Neither the CDSCO nor the national advisory group on immunisation was taken into confidence before Prime Minister Modi announced the rollout of booster doses. •In reply to a series of RTI applications by The Wire Science, the PMO and the health ministry refused to divulge details of the government’s decision-making. •One reply indicated that the government had misled the Supreme Court about the availability of the minutes of an NTAGI meeting in December 2021 deliberating ‘precautionary’ doses. •It also appears that the DCGI approved homologous boosting in the absence of data and allegedly because it was the legally safer choice https://science.thewire.in/health/cdsco-approval-precautionary-doses-investigation/?s=09 Ref: https://t.me/awakenindiamovement

great initiative by the govt in running such a campaign and making it freely available. Saving lives is more important than giving freebies like tv, free electricity and emptying nations coffers
