Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Jul 30: Few Muslim organisations on Saturday July 30 had boycotted the peace committee meeting organised by the district administration after three murders rocked Dakshina Kannada district.

Muslim Central Committee president K S Mohammed Masood organised an urgent meeting at his residence. In the meeting, the leaders decided to provide compensation of Rs 30 lac each to the family members of Mohammed Masood of Bellare and Mohammed Fazil of Mangalpete.

Muslim leaders have expressed unhappiness though three youths were brutally hacked to death, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai visited only the residence of BJP leader Praveen in Nettar and did not visit the residences of Masood and Fazil and did not provide them any compensation.

The Muslim Central Committee is providing this compensation after collecting funds from donors. It is also decided in the meeting to provide legal aid to both the parties.

K S Mohammed Masood said that all residents in the district should maintain peace. He also condoled the death of all the three youths.

MLA UT Khader, former MLA Mohiuddin Bava, Muslim Central Committee vice president Ibrahim Kodijal, B M Mumtaz Ali, Haneef Bander, Syed Ahammed Basha Thanghal, and others were present.

Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Central Committee, Popular Front of India, Dakshina Kannada District Organisations Union, Muslim Justice Forum Karnataka and other organisations had boycotted the district peace committee meeting which was held earlier in the day.

The dear committee, not be so aggressive when the youth dies, it's your responsibility to make a positive mindset and productive mindset for the youth rather than make them vulnerable to die on the road.

This committee has to first introspect on who started this in the first place. Obviously when you start there will be a reaction. So the best this it NOT to indulge. This is what the committe has to advise this first. Prevention is always better than cure. Its an universal issue, you start it and then when there is a retaliation, the victim card is played, blaming the Govt. Come on! Lets all live in peace.

Same tone like CM… why talking like kids… very immature … killings in any form and order is wrong… all the killers should be punished not seeing their religion or background…. But head of state doing partiality openly for saving his seat is not less than any crime… he will surely understand his this particular move… it’s entire people of Karnataka needs to raise their voice for this shameful act of this person who is bringing bad name to the post of cm …. Shame on your thinking….

@Navneeth... When you rised the question of who started this, then you should know who killed Masood.... By the way all these deaths have no interconnection between such as retaliation... Masood was killed for different reason, Praveen for different and Fazil for different, it was not any retaliation. But one thing is common in all surely communal hatred... But who are the real culprit in creating communal atmosphere?? I believe we all know who they are and still many literate turn blind bhakth and support such party and organization... You know whom I am pointing towards the organization which has jeopardised the entire country into enemity, the organization which started rath yatra, the organization which is taking the country into medieval age, the organization which is sees humans some as superior and others as inferiors or untouchables etc to name a few.

Leader has to render justice to all. But CM proved that he is communal and not able to give justice to minorities. Hindu, muslim, christian or sikh, all are human beings and all are praying to God in different forms. How come only Hindu is human and all other communities are not human? CM has no right to continue in his office as it proved that he is unable to render justice to all the citizens. If there is Human right authorities , they have to take up this matter further as this type of administrators are responsible for all the unrest and hatred in the society.

@Rudolf, Mumbai. Very much appreciate your concern. The issue is not abiut fighting a legal battle. The issue is of the result and you and me both know very well which way the result would go. The representation of Muslims is by far very low and handful of them have their voice, but it won't help much. Similar is representation of Christians. How many Christian MPs you have in Karnataka or in other states other than Goa. I am not batting for support based on religion. We don't beg with the governments for anything let alone compensation. Jeete hain toh sarr uthaake jeete hain. Not demanding compensation itself is a slap on the Baaja Partys face.
