Mangaluru: Youth walking on railway track with ears plugged killed by speeding train

Mangaluru, Jul 31: A youth died after a speeding train knocked him down here on Sunday, July 31.

The incident was reported on the Yekkuru bridge railway track.

The deceased youth has been identified as Praveen (Ravi) Monteiro, a resident of Jeppu Bappal and a native of Talapady. 

The accident occurred while he was walking on the track.

It is suspected that as he wore earphones, he could not sense the train arriving and was hit.

The Railway police have registered a case.

    Got shiver as heard plugging ears and walking on railway tracks.It is almost self mord.One who is educated and know how fast life can end when walk on railway tracks.Heartfelt sympathy to family .May his soul rest in peace.Plug ears to hear music ,many youths do this on roads ,and railway tracks.No explanation more required .

    Impossible. When a train approaches, the tracks vibrate, be plus there is no headphone in this world which will muffle the sound of an incoming train. Om Shanti

    May be suicide, intentionally he put ear phone and walk. may his soul rest in peace. depression cant handle long time so people decide to end life.
