Mangalore: Baba Ramdev to Hold Yoga Camp in City on April 16

Mangalore, Apr 4: A free Yoga camp is being held by renowned Yoga protagonist and guru, Baba Ramdev, at the Central Maidan in the city from 5 am to 7.30 am on Saturday April 16. In this connection, a mega preliminary meeting is being held at 5 pm on April 6 at A B Shetty Hall at Bunts Hostel here, informed Ajit Kumar Rai Malady, organizer of the camp, addressing a press conference here on Sunday April 3.

“The Swamiji, who wants to introduce Yoga and its health benefits to all the nooks and corners of India and abroad, has visited all the districts in North India. He has also organized Yoga camps at many places across South India. For the first time, he will visit the city on April 16,” he explained.

Malady added that a number of Yoga teachers trained by Baba Ramdev in his Patanjali Yoga Peetha in Haridwar, have been organizing sessions on Yoga in coastal districts. “The people of the district are fortunate to have come across a rare opportunity to directly derive knowledge about Yoga from the renowned guru. About 50,000 people are expected to take part in the programme,” he added.

He also said that the camp is open for everyone irrespective of their caste and religious affiliations or age groups. Yoga can play an important role in the lives of the students, by developing their minds, and strengthening memory power, he stressed. “Yoga enables people to identify their inner powers, make them still more powerful, and experience unlimited possibilities out of them,” said Patanjali Yoga Samiti state president, Pradip Urs.

State vice president of the Samiti, Dr Jnaneshwar Nayak, district president, M Jagadish Shetty Bejai, state women’s wing president, Sujata Marla, and district women’s wing president, Jayashree, were present at the press conference.
