Mangaluru: Serial murders - Prohibitory orders to continue in DK for two more days

Mangaluru, Jul 31: The district administration has extended the evening curfew throughout Dakshina Kannada district for two more days following a request by the police department.

Since the situation is volatile in the region following the murders in Bellare and Surathkal, as a precautionary measure, barring essential services all other public activities, businesses and establishments will continue to remain closed from 6 PM to 6 AM shut till on August 1 morning. The prohibitory orders are in place from July 29 evening.

Issuing the order, deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V said from 6 AM to 6 PM regular activities will go on as usual.

    The timing and "heading" of this report, in context of the earlier order, would make anybody think that the restrictions would continue till August 3rd; just an observation!

    Normal people with business daily wages are dying with no business. Especially food cart guys, Dc, Politicians all finish their work by 6 pm & sit at home & relax. But what about small business people who work or do business after 6 PM

    But, i see people going out in the evenings/for functions/coming late/hotels etc. I dont think people follow this in discipline.....To commit any offense, day is not sufficient for the criminals??
