Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 31: Dakshina Kannada on Sunday July 31, reported 15 new coronavirus cases while 13 cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,245 out of which 97 are currently active. As many as six patients were discharged on July 31.

Zero deaths were reported on July 31. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,854.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.69 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

13 coronavirus cases were reported on July 31. The total active Covid cases are 49.

A total of 10,89,873 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,81,877 have received both doses and 1,71,032 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported five cases, Karkala one and Kundapur six.
