Bangkok Sees Festive Cheer with Kannada Balaga's Ugadi Celebration

Bangkok, Apr 4: Thailand Kannada Balaga (TKB) organized a programme on account of Ugadi festivities at Hotel Navotel Lotus Sukhumvit on Sunday April 3. Ugadi festival is celebrated every year in Bangkok by
Thai Kannada Balaga.
This year the Ugadi and International cultural festival was jointly organized by TKB and Hrudayavahini a monthly news paper in Kannada. President of TKB, Vincy Daniel Pinto, welcomed the guests and the
audience. This was followed by the delivering of Ugadi message by K P Manjunath Sagar, editor, Hrudayavahini Monthly mangalore.
A beautiful cultural event Dollu Kunitha was performed by Choodamani Ramachandra, Rekha Jagadish, Jyothi K M and Jyothi B V, members of Sneha Mahila Mandali, Sagar, Karnataka.
There was a poetry presentation from Jagannath Sannur, Sedam. Bharatnatyam by Vid Nagalaxmi and Arjun. Kannada film songs from Kikkeri Krishnamurthy Ganesh Patil, Manipal and Ravindranath Sirava.
The Mangalorean entrepreneur Elias Sanctis was honoured for his social service and promoting cultural activities.
A yakshagana was performed by Kamalaksha Prabhu, Manipal, Vittal Prabhu, Mumbai and Devendra Nayak. The performers were presented with certificates and trophies from the chief guest Neeraj Saexna ,country manager of Indian Overseas Bank, Bangkok and also by the TKB president Vincy Daniel Pinto, Mukund Rao, Mohan Das, Ravi, Habib and Vinay Rai, former presidents of TKB.
Ravindranath Siravar compered the programme. K P Manjunath Sagar played important role in arranging the international cultural festival . The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Subramanyam of TKB.
