Udupi, Aug 1: “We have given free hand to the police department in the investigation of Praveen Nettaru murder case. I have already got preliminary report from the police. They have said that clue of all those involved in this murder is available to them,” said Dakshian Kannada in-charge minister V Sunil Kumar.

Speaking to reports in the city on Monday August 1, he said, “I will not meddle in the investigation. The ADGP has camped here only. They will trace the culprits through CCTV footage. They will find who are the financiers for this crime and then bring out the real murderers.

“We will never defend any murder. All ideological issues have to be resolved through discussions. Any act of violence should not take place. Jihad violence has increased by leaps and bounds in the country. This is not limited to Mangaluru alone. It has spread to various districts in our state as well as outstation states.

“Earlier, Jihad crime was limited to Kashmir. Now it got extended to West Bengal, Rajasthan and Kerala. It has entered Karnataka also. Community has to think the reach of Jihad violence. Muslim nations themselves are keeping these Jihadi elements at bay. Our country will not accept if ideology is spread through violence. If they attempt to create untoward incidents, merciless action will be taken on them. Society should get united against Jihadi elements,” he said.

Responding to the issue of mass resignation of BJP workers in the state after Praveen’s murder, Sunil said, “The anger of party workers is just. I will never say that their expression of anger is wrong. In a family there will be minor differences. Father has to give good lessons to son and vice versa. It cannot be called as difference. The demand of the workers asking party leaders to value their emotions is correct. We have received their opinion. That sort of commitment is there in our party. I will respect the opinion expressed by party workers on social media as a worker of the party. We will make the workers understand everything.”

Sunil refused to comment on the matter of chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai not visiting the house of Masood. He said that CM himself has clarified on the matter, so he has nothing to say.

Concluding the press conference, Sunil said, “All classes agree on the matter of nationalism and development. Just because there is some resistance, we will not turn away from nationalism. We will make the society aware of the plots of Jihadis and their future plans. We will convey the society the glorification of Jihad and the programmes of Jihadi elements.

“When someone asks do you need government or Hindutva, we will opt for Hindutva. BJP was founded after Mukherjee resigned from his position. BJP and Jansangh were founded through sacrifice. We will run the government on the basis of Hindutva. We have implemented anti-cow slaughter act for the same reason. We will bring some more good laws for the betterment of society. We will contribute to the Navabharath dream of PM Modi by building Nava Karnataka,” he said.
