Kundapur: Depressed 10th grade girl student commits self-immolation

Kundapur, Aug 1: A 15-year-old girl and student of 10th standard committed suicide by pouring kerosene over self and lighting herself. This incident occurred on Monday, August 1 at Koravadi near Kota.

Ananya, a 10th grade student of Kota Padukare high school is the girl who killed herself. She was reportedly under depression. As she was getting ready to go to school, she went into a room as no one was there at home, poured kerosene over herself and lit the fire.

Neighbours rushed to her rescue and took her to a private hospital in Manipal but she succumbed to injuries. Ananya was living with her grandmother and aunt. Her parents live in Bengaluru.

A case has been registered in this regard at Kundapur police station.
