Mangaluru Aug 1: Former chief minister H D Kumarswamy has warned of a satyagraha he if the government failed to arrest the culprits behind three serial murders cases within August 5.

Addressing media here on Monday, August 1, H D Kumaraswamy said, "I have visited the residences of Masood, Praveen and Fazil who were recently murdered in a span of 10 days. The families of the three deceased had only one strong demand, that is, to nab the culprit and put them behind bars at the earliest."

"The children of politicians or who are in the forefront of any organizations have not lost their lives, but the poor youths misused in the name of ideologies are being murdered which has to be stopped in the district. During Congress' tenure, 34 murders took place. The law and order was miserable then. Now the same Congress is now questioning BJP. I want to ask both the national parties about their contribution to the people in Dakshina Kannada," said Kumarswamy.

He also said, "When few months are left for elections, such incidents occur and now again it has started prior to polls. Why did the chief minister come to Mangaluru? I expected that he would spread a message of faith and harmony between the two communities. Right in his physical presence, Fazil was stabbed in Surathkal. If the CM had visited Surthakal then no one would have suspected his mentality. I want to question whom the chief minister plans to appease?"

DGP Praveen Sood visited Mangaluru for a short period of time and failed to visit the houses of the deceased, he pointed out.

"I am not conducting a satyagraha for my personal benefit as there is no strong hold for JDS in Dakshina Kannada and I don’t have any candidate to field in Dakshina Kannada. I want to be the voice of the families of the deceased and I want the district to continue to be in peace and harmony. I would urge all the youths of Dakshina Kannada to strive for the same," said Kumarswamy.

State JDS president C M Ibrahim said, "Chief Minister Bommai did not visit the residences of Masood and Fazil. There was death of a Muslim youth in Dharward, a soldier from Coorg lost in life in Kashmir but the CM did not visit their residences. It's not Hindus or Muslims are dying but humanity is fading off. Police need to be given a free hand. The case has been given to the NIA as the government thinks that the state cops are ineffective. Both the national parties are only playing blame games."

JDS vice president M B Sadashiv, district JDS president Madhav Gowda, former district president Mohammed Kunhji, district convenor Sushil Noronha, district youth JDS president Akshith Suvarna and others were present.

BJPs biggest assets in Karnataka is firstly a 'divided opposition ' and secondly and 'infighting ' in the largest opposition party.

Very good step and and bold move. Test of the opposition must take the opportunity to crucify the wrong doers who hav tortured the public with their bias rule and law of rule on selective members of community. BJP must understand that even the majorities have realized what is going wrong. Count down appears to have begun only needs to be boosted by public support. Bad and blind rule must come to an end. Good move by HDK Sir. It really needs guts. The parties that masquerade as 'protector of minorities ' are just mute spectators and biding time to conduct a 'press conference'.
