Uttara Kannada students write letter in blood to PM demanding super specialty hospital

Uttara Kannada, Aug 1 (IANS): Karnataka students from different organisations wrote a letter in blood to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday demanding sanctioning of a super specialty hospital for Uttara Kannada district.

The students gathered on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Karwar city and staged a protest, writing the letter in their blood. They wrote "namage beku super specialty hospital" (We need a super specialty hospital) and posted it to PM Modi.

They warned that they will boycott the assembly elections if the hospital is not sanctioned soon. The local people said that though the district has a large geographical area, the services of not a single multi-specialty or super specialty hospital are available to the public.

The people have to travel to Goa, Hubballi, Udupi and Mangaluru for emergency treatment. The demand for the hospital grew stronger after the death of 4 people from Honnavar in the district on July 20.

The agitators said that they will continue to write letters in blood to Modi until their demand is fulfilled.

The district is considered a bastion of the ruling BJP and the party though giving assurances, has not fulfilled the demand for the hospital. The Opposition parties have criticised the ruling party over its failure to build a hospital.

As there as no good Hospitals in North Karnataka many are depending on Hospitals in Kundpaura and Manipal. Some of these private Hospitals are too expensive. It will be very good if Government can provide a superficiality center at North Karnataka so that people will have easy asses to healthcare

Good suggestion to build a good hospital.Whether it will be sanctioned and built is another question. If for a Goshala or Hindu Mandir had written in simple ink ,already Bhakts had were on the way to sanction or to collect money. Why write in Blood. Please let it in your body.you need it more when you get sick.

If it should happen, it has to happen during the present government tenure only. I have no hopes on others as in the past 68 years it didn't happen. Uttara Kannada district which was represented by the current VP contender Ms. Margi Alva do not have a medical hospital and she is also one to be be blamed. Being such close to Gandhi family she could have ensured it. Meanwhile our twin districts of DK and Udupi also lacks with a government medical college with modern facilities. What did Janardhana Poojary , late Oscar , Moily etc al did during their tenure

See dear Mr. Johnson, all were there, are there, will be there only for fulfilling their purposes, filling their treasury. No one is there for the citizens....any government comes. They will come to serve their ulterior motives. Unless otherwise, people get united irrespective of castes, nothing will happen...

Millions of rupee is spent on advertisements by ruling party. We just need a fraction of that huge money to build a multi speciality hospital.
