Udupi: Online fraud – Man fleeced of Rs 2.06 lac, complaint filed

Udupi, Aug 2: A man was fleeced of Rs 2.06 lac in an online fraud. Shashikantha Acharya of Mallaru is the person who is taken to ride by the fraudster.

Shashikantha was searching for part time job on Telegram app. He had downloaded Snapdeal shopping app for selling and buying goods. He had recharged the same with Rs 200. Against this recharge Rs 413 and Rs 1,472 was deposited to his bank account.

Later a man, who introduced himself as manager of Snapdeal got Shashikanatha to deposit Rs 3.26 lac to the Snapdeal shopping account for doing various tasks. However, he took Rs 2.06 lac out of the deposited amount on the pretext of selling goods and cheated Shashikantha.

A case in this connection is registered in CEN crime police station.
