Mangaluru: Mild tremors experienced in Mary Hill, Padavinagady

Mangaluru, Aug 3: Mild tremors were experienced in Mary Hill and Padavinagady on Wednesday August 3.

People felt the tremors between 10 am to 10.30 am. Teachers reportedly shifted the students out of the school building here in the vicinity as a precautionary measure. Later, classes resumed as usual.

Sources from the school advised parents need not to get tensed and also that the students were safe.

Several multi-storey buildings experienced the tremors.

    "Give more permission to build 50 story buildings" I heard that most of the skyscrapers (residential apartments) in Malore are built withe latest scientific way and earthquake resistance. My house is just below the skyscrapers ' Solitaire ' next compound. 👏

    To declare on paper that it's earthquake resistant is very easy, but I personally opine that these buildings will not be able to withstand an earthquake of 7 on the Richter scale?

    Yes. Even in Japan flyovers declared eartquake-proof came down with a 7 scale tremblor.

    As I read in papers some days back the recent earthquake is caused by borewell in Madikeri. If the administration in Mangalore does not shop borewell we have to see the next Earthquake bigger than this here.

    I have not studied the effects of borewells on seismic activity. But, in DK-Manganauru you will find borewells in every other compound; there is no one to monitor borewell drilling, which job is quitely completed in one night! With so many borewells around, the ground water level has gone down substantially which is not suitable for drinking, which most people don't know as seldom the water is sent for analysis! The time is not far off when DK, Manganauru will face a severe drinking water crisis as Netravati water would be not sufficient to cater to the number of skyscrapers coming up in this small city!

    Watch out for sudden increase or decrease in water level of wells and ponds ( no water in the tap is a usual phenomenon). This happened in Latur, Maharashtra.Migration of ants and underground insects in large numbers is another sign of the big one about to strike -happened in Gujarat, and I have seen it myself. (may not be at the same place but nearby). Whenever the tremor starts one should try to come out in an open space - you get full 2 minutes. In a high rise the vulnerable point is below the water tank , do not be below it in particular if the staircase is below the overhead tank. Do not panic, but be prepared.

Being highly qualified and who save peoples life through their dedicated service she wished bad for me and to Kuwait. I gave her right reply bu she did bother to answer me. May be she is reading my comments and regretting her irrational thoughts. Tremors are coming down from Wester ghats and close to Coastal area ! No I never wish any thing like that. It's a geophysical activities under the Earth from core of the Earth due to shifting tectonic plates. . What we can do about it ? Doctor, Please feel bad I never entertain any ill feeling because of your non intended comments. Me and Cynthia more than often have war of words. when I do not side ladies. Comments are comments some times to add some humour. When I come to Mangalore I may visit you to do general check up (routine)

    I was allways thought that preemption of destruction is allways better if it was within ones power. Now to teach a lesson to ordinary mortals why a divine has to go so far?. If he wanted people to be good assuming the moral compass of the worldy people and the divine is the same, then he would have ensured that people allways do good. why would he allow people to do all the nasty things and then punish?. Though i can never understand a conditioned mind that was allways taught to fear rather than love to give some logic to me in this, still i would give it a try if somebody were to answer my comment.

    Never question god. God loves everyone. With love and compassion god want to show the world also hard time s makes one to realize the pain of others who lives comfortable life with pride and arrogance towards others. Many times god plans is not clear whether it is punishment or betterment toward the nature to have greater benefits for humanity .
