Kasargod, Aug 4: The mortal remains of a retired teacher who was washed away in the floods was found on Thursday, August 4.

Latha (57), wife of Bheemanadi Kurakunda is the person who lost her life in this incident. Her body was found in the drain a little distance away from the spot where she fell into the drain and got washed away. The mishap had occurred on Wednesday morning.

Though fire service personnel, police and locals searched the body, they could not locate it. When the search operation was resumed on Thursday, the mortal remains were found.

Vellarikundu station police inspected the mortal remains and shifted the same to taluk hospital mortuary.
