Police Department Accords Warm Farewell to Outgoing SP A S Rao

Mangalore, Apr 6: The police department bid a warm farewell to A S Rao, superintendent of police, DK rural police district who was recently transferred as SP (internal security), Bangalore. The function was at Hotel Ocean Pearl here on Wednesday April 6.
Alok Mohan, inspector-general of police (western range) presided over the function. Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, assistant DC Prabhakar Sharma, new SP Labhu Ram, DCP M Mutthuraya among others were present.
Speaking on the occasion Alok Mohan said that he always paid attention to Rao's advice whenever the city faced law and order problems. He lauded Rao for introducing kit boxes which are useful at crime scenes. Police officers who come here, leave with a heavy heart upon transfer because of the love and affection showered by people of South Canara district, he noted.
Rohini Katoch, Puttur ASP, said that Dr Rao was her mentor and appreciated his people-friendly approach.
Acknowledging the felicitation, SP A S Rao said he was able to maintain law and order because of the co-operation of the public. He wished all success for his successor SP Labhu Ram.
