Udupi: Chilling moment of leopard hunting pet dog caught on camera

Udupi, Aug 12: Leopard taking a pet dog along with its neck belt was recorded in the CCTV camera of Balachandra Kedilaya, resident of Golikatte of Herga village near Parkala on Thursday August 11.

The leopard was spotted earlier also in this vicinity. Local residents are scared of the leopard’s presence again in the area.

Social worker Ganesh Raj Saralebettu said that people are under panic and suitable action needs to be taken by the forest department.

    These wild cats stay away from humans during the day.When they feel danger then they attack humans too .Thatswhy one should keep the dogs in a cage during nights .Why should we rare dogs and let the wild animal take away ?In forest they dont find any prey ,like wild pigs ,or other animals.Humans have hunted them all .What will they do now ?-Govt,has now let all wild animals in forests ?Forest people are caging them and leave in other area.But problem remains.

    Due to deforestation, they are left with no option than entering city and hunting human pets.

    Leopads do not normally kill human beings However they come to villages to kill preys like chicken cow and other smaller house animals. However on rare instances they can attack human beings as they are animals Hence we must remain careful
