Mangaluru, Aug 12: To mark the Amrit Mahotsav (75th anniversary of the country's Independence), deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra KV flagged off a boat rally at Bunder organised by the department of Fisheries and Fisheries Organisations, on Friday August 12.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said, “As part of the Amrt Mahotsav, the Fisheries department, Indian Coast Guard, and other fishing organizations have organised this boat rally. As many as 75 boats with the tricolour will take part in this rally. I congratulate all the fishermen and organisations for the Amrit Mahotsav (75th anniversary of the country's Independence)."
Zilla panchayat CEO Dr Kumar, Fisheries department joint director Harish, deputy director Sushmita, Revathi, Rekha, coastal security police officers, trawl boat union president, and other representatives were present.
