Hebri, Aug 12: This is the best example for humanitarian service. The Hebri Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) has built a home for Narayana Gowda, who has been living in the midst of the forest since the last five decades in Thengamaru in Nadpalu village limits. He has no other caretaker at home.

Narayana Gowda, 72, is a Nati vaidya (a traditional medical practitioner) by profession but he has been deprived of government facilities and is living all by himself in a shed. He has no other source of income for his livelihood.

After seeing his situation, the ANF Hebri team decided to build a small house with their own effort and finally they handed over a new house to Narayana Gowda on Thursday. Now the team is getting a lot of appreciation from the public for being good samaritans.

The team has built a house after collecting donations of Rs 55,000 within four days from its members and they have named the house ‘Amrith Nivasa’ to commemorate the 75th year of Indian independence.

ANF superintendent Prakash handed over the newly built house along with new clothes to Narayana Gowda. Sudarshan Dodmani, Hebri station officer, ANF officers were also present during the occasion.

Satish, head of ANF team visited the place with his staff members Ganapathi, Raghavendra Kanchan, Ravi, Gopala and Hosappa Narayan.

Other forest officers Prashanth, ANF SP Prashanth Nikkam, Police Viresh, Vasanth were also present. Mohanraj Jois, priest of Anantha Padmanabha temple performed the grihapravesha rituals.

The team also provided utensils and groceries to Gowda. It was an overwhelming moment for Gowda. The ANF team members themselves carried the construction materials on their heads with the help of other labourers as there is no proper approach road to reach his home.

ANF superintendent Prakash has announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for their noble work.

Satish, head of ANF team, told Daijiworld that “we have seen his situation since decades. There are no basic facilities provided by the government. He is completely deprived of the basic amenities. There are so many such families living in rural areas, but he is alone. Narayana Gowda is basically from Male Kudiya community. We extended a helping hand by providing shelter during this monsoon season.”
