Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 11: A complaint of cheating was filed in Urwa police station here, by a person against his neighbour. Godfrey D’Souza, residing in Bejai Anegundi here, filed a complaint against Purushottam Pandey, a native of Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday April 10.

In the complaint, D’Souza said that he knew Pandey, who had rented a house owned by his neighbour, Jacob, since the last three years. He said that Pandey had borrowed eight lac rupees from him, pleading financial crisis, on April 5. A sum of five lac rupees had also been borrowed by Pandey from his house owner, Jacob, too, D’Souza claims. After collecting the money, Pandey suddenly went missing, and could not be traced, he explained in his complaint.

In the meanwhile, it is gathered that Jacob, owner of the house rented to Pandey, has not come forward to register any complaint about the money said to have been lost by him. On the basis of D’Souza’s complaint, Urwa policemen have registered a case.
