Mumbai: Independence Day programme held at Shivdi municipal school

Mumbai, Aug 13: A programme was held at Shivdi municipal Kannada school here as part of upcoming Independence Day celebrations.

Brahmakumari Laxmi Rathod, chief guest, advised the students to indulge in cultural activities of the school. “Children should stay away from TV and mobiles, respect teachers and elders, have a noble aim and study daily,” she said.

Headmistress Srishaila Basaragi in her introduction said that the school has been teaching Kannada for the last seven decades. “Free meals are served for children and the Mumbai city corporation is providing all the necessary facilities,” she said.

Teacher Sanjay Theli and students were present. Teacher Durgappa Y Kotiavar compered the programme and rendered a vote of thanks.
