Beltangady: Police arrest four for illegally transporting cattle

Beltangady, Aug 18: The police arrested four under the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance, 2020, sections 4,5,7,8, and 12 and IMV act 53(1) r/w 192 for illegally transporting cattle in a car.

The arrested are Razak P, Mohammed Rafeeq, Nagesh Shetty, and one more accused Rauf alias Mohammed Asif.

It is said that when the police officers were on rounds at Anthrapalke, Manjotti in Nada Village, they stopped a Maruti 800 car KA 01P2462. The car driver fled from the spot. Another car Qualis KA 21M2646 which was behind the Maruti car was transporting cattle illegally. Rauf alias Mohammed Asif who was in the Maruti car fled from the spot.

Police have seized items from the accused worth Rs 4,15,000.
