Kasargod: Recruitment of Malayali teacher for Kannada medium students opposed

Kasargod, Aug 30: Protests by students and parents of Angadimogar government higher secondary school at Kumble continued on Monday August 29 also against the recruitment of a Malayali physics teacher for Kannada medium students.

In 2019, when Mohammed Sijir, resident of Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram, was recruited for Moodambail government school, students and parents held fierce protest and prevented him from entering the school premises. He filed a case in court and showed the copy of the same and tried to attend classes. But the parents and students did not yield. Later, he filed a complaint at Kumble police station and did not return to school.

Similar incidents were reported from Mangalpady, Kubanoor and Paivalike schools also.

    k.b.r mangala uru Not only he should know kannada language but also show certificate in which language he learned.and exams .How he came to karnataka school as if there are no kannada teachers in karnataka ?By some percent?Then our teachers can try in kerala school also .Now more kerala is present in karnataka than asli mangaloreans or kannadigas.I heard one funny tale about Malayalis.You know Thejsing went first time to Himalaya .When he reached there ,he was so happy to be the first one who climbed up mount everest.He was in happy moments as all of a sudden one person came asking "chai veno",asking if anyone wants to drink cup of tea .That means there were malayalis already before him.

    In India we can't give complaint like this, because in south Kanara in almost all canara bank branches, we find Maliyali officers and staff. It's difficult to talk with them and make them understand. Last week ,I just asked over the phone, whether Manager is in the office, the lady maliyali told me in kannada " MANAGER HORAKATE HOGITHE" I said ok. I thought he has gone to Toilet.

    I was just about to write this . Its really pathetic. I had to call from abroad and it took 30 mins to speak to a manger , who didnt know English, Kannada. Later someone translated.

    It is very difficult to snatch a bite from a Malayalee's plate... We know that they are everywhere in the globe... It is but expected that they will be at their best in their own turf... It may sound foolish to appoint someone who cannot follow a word of Kannada in a Kannada medium school... But if he is well educated in Kannada language then this strike is not fair...
