I don't think there is Lord Ganesha visarjan on September 2nd if conventional tradition is followed? Can any knowledgeable person tell whether I am right? Depending on the family tradition, Ganesh Visarjan is done on one and half-day or the third, fifth, seventh, ninth, or eleventh day.

all sorts of excuses to create holidays. Festivals and revellers are going rogue. Instead of keeping them within limits...., a hapless administration takes the easy way out by declaring holiday.

Let us honour if we can. The vertical man. Though we value none. But the horizontal man. You were asked to bend, but you crawled. Spineless bureaucracy. Reason is obvious . Why to mislead people. Say straight and clear, declared holiday in view of the visit of the PM. Why to beat the bush.

Instead of holiday, DC should have given order to all schools and College students to attend the PM'S rally. Because Ganesh immersion is on 3rd, 5th, 7th day like in all places, but how DC told that 2nd September immersion day ?? IAM surprised.

Best Decision. Ganesh Chaturthi is a very Important festival for all. Also for those who would like to take part in our great PM Modiji's public function, it is a blessing in disguise. Both Ganeshji and Modiji are respected and loved by every one! God bless India!

Ganesh Visarjan is just an excuse. The actual reason is because of The Great Feku Maharaj's arrival in Mangalore, all roads are to be kept free of traffic. Even private offices have been asked to declare Holiday on that day . All for one man's convenience!!
